My role at BCS Wealth Management
I am a fiduciary for corporate retirement plans for both large and small businesses, which simply means I am held to a higher standard of care and must act in my client’s best interest at all times. In this role I partner with business owners and HR professionals to design and implement their company retirement plans. This includes consultation, plan design, employee and owner education, investment monitoring and overall management of the plan. Not all financial advisors are fiduciaries, and my CPFA designation further differentiates my expertise in various types of group retirement plan benefits. Retirement plans can be essential to attracting and retaining employees Therefore, all parties are well served to know the details of the plan. I work directly with employers to explain their responsibilities as a plan sponsor and with employees to compliment or start their financial plan. In addition to working as a retirement plan advisor, I also provide comprehensive financial planning to individuals and families.
Education and Experience
I graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.B.A. in Finance, and I studied abroad at the University of Vienna in Austria. In addition to being securities licensed, I have furthered my investment knowledge and obtained two advance certifications: the Accredited Asset Management Specialist® (AAMS®) and the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor™ (CPFA™) designations.
Community Involvement and Personal Notes
My wife, Blake, and I have two children, Haltson and Haines. We moved to Johnson City in early 2021 and are enjoying becoming involved in the community. Outside of the office, you most likely will find me outside! I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, snowboarding, playing golf, and tinkering with cars.
