Mike Alread Announces Retirement

The team at BCS Wealth Management and Blackburn, Childers & Steagall, CPAs congratulates Mike Alread on his retirement. Mike announced a retirement date of December 31, 2017 in a letter to his clients on December 18, 2017. Mike’s financial planning career spanned 25 years.

Mike was the founding partner of BCS Wealth Management in 1998. Under his guidance, BCS Wealth Management has grown into one of the region’s most established and respected financial planning firms. Accompanying the growth, Mike has been instrumental in developing a team of financial advisors and support staff who are committed to the firm’s continued success.

Mike writes about his retirement decision, “A great number of you reading this early retirement letter are already enjoying your children, grandchildren, charitable commitments, and other opportunities as a ‘retired’ person. I have been considering this as well for some time. While I may not have shared it publicly with many folks, it has been in my thoughts for quite a while.”

Regarding the transition, Mike writes, “I have been an integral part of creating a very talented, caring, competent, and younger staff! My three partners, Myra O’Dell, Nathan Goodwin, and Nick Clay, are as talented a group of professionals you will find anywhere. Most of you know them and have worked or currently work with them in some capacity. I absolutely and unequivocally recommend all of them. These partners have been on board for numerous years and will continue just like I did.”

Mike emphasizes, “It is YOU, the client/friend, that makes this work so enjoyable. That’s the most important reason that I entered this great profession years ago… There aren’t enough words to express my gratefulness to and for you. To say I have been blessed is a true understatement. So I simply say ‘Thank You’ from the bottom of my heart.”

Nick Clay added, “We certainly wish Mike nothing but the absolute best. His stamp on our firm will always be there. The beauty in the way we have managed our firm is that we operate with a team approach. This approach has proved invaluable in the past, and it will continue to serve us and our clients well in the future.”

We look forward to continuing to grow alongside you, and we wish Mike the best as he enters a new phase of life.
